This video features Monsanto CEO Hugh Grant talking with “In Defense of Food” author Michael Pollan and Google.org’s head of global development, Sonal Shah, on the topic of “Creating a World That Can Feed Itself.”

Pollan found Grant’s confidence about the potential of genetically modified foods troubling, given that high yields have not historically been a strength of genetically modified crops. He challenged Monsanto to join the effort to feed the world on terms that are ecologically and economically reasonable — such as allowing farmers to save seed, which Pollan called critical to food security. Monsanto currently views seed saving as piracy.

Hi all, I am excited to share with you something very new! This is a new service so it is in the building stage, but keep up on it, I believe it will become a great resource. It’s like getting cliff notes off your computer for some of the popular health books. The service is free right now so I would recommend getting your membership right away. There are not a ton of books available right now, but they are adding them all the time.

There are always so many books that I want to read, but never enough time. This is a great chance for me to get the “skinny” on some of the books I have been interested in reading, but not had time for. Then I figure if I really love the content, I can go back and read the entire book, if it wasn’t what I was hoping for I don’t have to bother with the whole book.
